Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – New 16-Week Course Format

Exciting news! Starting in Fall 2025, we’re introducing a 16-week course format alongside our existing 8-week courses. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about this new option.

1. Will 16-week courses replace the 8-week format?

No, the 16-week courses will not replace our existing 8-week format. Both options will be available to provide flexibility for students based on their learning preferences and schedules.

2. Is the content different from the 8-week courses?

No, the content is exactly the same as our 8-week courses—just expanded to 16 weeks. The material, readings, and assignments remain the same but are spread out over a longer period to allow for a more traditional semester pace.

3. Why are 16-week courses being introduced?

The 16-week format allows students to:

  • Engage with course material at a measured pace
  • Have more time for reading, reflection, and assignments
  • Balance coursework with ministry, work, and family responsibilities

4. What types of courses will be available in the 16-week format?

We are currently offering a small selection of 16-week courses beginning in Fall 2025. Based on student feedback and attendance, we may expand offerings in the future.

5. Can I mix 8-week and 16-week courses in my schedule?

Yes! Some students may choose to take only one 16-week course, while others may prefer to mix and match—for example, taking two 8-week courses plus one 16-week course. This flexibility allows you to create a schedule that works best for you.

6. Will 16-week courses have LiveSync sessions?

Yes, but the number of LiveSync sessions will remain the same regardless of whether you take an 8-week or 16-week course.

7. How will grading and assignments differ between 8-week and 16-week courses?

Grading expectations and assignments will remain the same. The difference is that in a 16-week course, assignments will be spaced out over a longer period, allowing for deeper engagement with the material and more time for feedback from instructors.

8. When will 16-week courses be available?

The first round of 16-week courses will be available in Fall 2025. We will evaluate student feedback and participation to determine potential future expansion.

9. How do I know if a 16-week course is right for me?

A 16-week course may be right for you if:

  • You prefer a slower, steady pace of study
  • You want more time to complete assignments
  • You’re balancing ministry, work, and family responsibilities

An 8-week course may be better if:

  • You prefer an accelerated timeline
  • You like completing courses quickly

If you’re unsure, academic advisors can help you determine the best approach for your schedule and learning style.
