Digital Textbooks and Logos Max

Beginning this fall (2025), Southern Seminary is launching an exciting new partnership with Logos Bible Software to provide Logos Max and digital textbooks for all master’s-level students, including online, modular, and on-campus, at no extra cost.

Why are we doing this?

Our vision is to proactively equip you as students, support your ongoing ministry, and build up the church by providing you with robust resources for your studies and lifelong theological growth. Conversations with many of you have reinforced the value of digital access to high-quality resources, and we believe this initiative will greatly benefit your educational experience.

Here’s what you’ll receive:

1. Textbooks in Logos

All required textbooks for your master’s-level courses will be provided at no additional cost. No more budgeting for textbooks each semester, hunting for the best deals, or waiting for books to ship. Your textbooks will be ready digitally from day one.

We’ve heard from many students who appreciate digital textbooks to avoid the hassle of purchasing books each semester. This partnership directly addresses that by removing logistical barriers, allowing you to focus entirely on your courses.

At the same time, we recognize that some of you still prefer physical copies of your books, and that’s completely understandable. This arrangement gives you the best of both worlds. Since there’s no extra cost, you can have digital copies for quick searches, highlighting, and easier writing of papers or book reviews, while still buying print copies if you prefer.

One of the greatest benefits is lifetime access. If you’re anything like me, years from now you might recall a helpful quote or section from a book. Instead of digging through physical copies or notes, you can simply open Logos and find exactly what you need within seconds.

We hope this provides an ideal solution for everyone. If you prefer digital, you’ll have all you need. If you love physical books, you’ll still enjoy full flexibility. Courses at Southern won’t require you to use Logos exclusively, but it will always be available, ensuring you don’t need to purchase separate digital copies.

2. Logos Max Subscription

You’ll also receive Logos Max, the top subscription tier from Logos. Logos Max provides advanced Bible study tools, sermon preparation resources, original language study aids, and extensive theological research libraries.
